Broker-Dealer
Licensed securities professional who can execute trades and place investors in CrossSecurities offerings through our network.
Full Definition
A broker-dealer is a financial firm or individual licensed to buy and sell securities on behalf of clients (broker function) and/or for their own account (dealer function). In most jurisdictions, broker-dealers must be registered with relevant regulators (FINRA/SEC in the US, FCA in the UK, etc.).
On Sails.to, licensed broker-dealers participate in our network to:
- Place their clients in primary offerings (earning up to 5% commission)
- Facilitate secondary trading on our OTC network (0.5% split)
- Provide market-making and liquidity services
Why It Matters
Broker-dealers provide crucial infrastructure for securities markets. They ensure proper investor qualification, provide investment advice, and create liquidity through market-making. Our multi-broker network ensures competitive pricing and broad distribution for issuers.
For issuers, the broker network means access to qualified investors without building distribution capabilities yourself.
